B&L Information Systems Releases Odyssey 5.0 MR4

Bridgman, Michigan, June 15, 2017 - B&L Information Systems, global leader in ERP software for metalcasters, has issued Odyssey 5.0 MR4 to general availability for all users. The software improvements in this maintenance release include enhancements for both Odyssey's Windows User Interface (UI) and Web UI.

Odyssey enhancements are generated from user feedback; with Odyssey 5.0 MR 4, the enhancements range from front office requests – personalization of RFQ form e-mails in Odyssey's CRM module – to shop floor time-savers – show schedule jobs by heats. Additionally, Web UI users can now customize their home screen experience to save time.

Odyssey 5.0 MR4 information is now available via the B&L customer portal (Customer Login) for customers who host Odyssey on their own servers. Any assistance needed in the update process is free for any customers on maintenance with B&L. Odyssey customers on the B&L Cloud will be contacted by B&L's Technology Department with the update schedule, as Technology will be using this opportunity to move all Cloud users to the more secure HTTPS environment.

Bronze Stevie for the Customer Support Desk

Bridgman, Michigan, May 10, 2017 - B&L Information Systems has been awarded their third customer service focused Stevie® Award, this time in the Technology category for Front-Line Customer Service Team of the Year  - Less than 100 Employees. For 2017, B&L’s Customer Support Desk’s service focus on “Getting customers back on track, fast”, including creation of video help documentation, resulted in a Bronze Stevie Award. B&L had previously won a Bronze Stevie® Award for Customer Service Department of the Year – Computer Software – Up to 100 Employees  in 2016; and, in 2015, B&L won a Silver Stevie Award for Contact Center of the Year (up to 100 seats) – Technology Industry.

TSASCS17 Bronze Winnerhe Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service are the world’s annual top honors for customer service, contact center, business development and sales professionals. The Stevie Awards organizes several of the world’s leading business awards programs including the prestigious American Business AwardsSM  and International Business AwardsSM

Entry does not guarantee an award. To be considered for a Stevie, the B&L nomination had to succeed in two rounds of independent judging. More than 75 members of several specialized judging committees determined the Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award placements from among the Finalists during final judging in February of 2017. Finalists had been previously determined by another 77 judges during the initial judging round in January.

Joe Harmon 180x224“We know that when a customer calls or emails into the B&L ‘front line’, our Customer Support Desk, the customer has an issue that needs to be resolved and may be holding up company productivity. As a team, we continuously work to provide fast, accurate, and consistent answers to customer dilemmas,” stated Joe Harmon, Vice-President Technology & Support at B&L. “To achieve that goal, our Customer Support Desk has created hundreds of Rapid Support Documents, including more than 90 with video components, for both Odyssey’s Windows UI and Web UI that help customers visually step through common issues and get back on track, fast. We are delighted this year’s judges at the Stevie Awards recognized the level of commitment to excellent customer support in the B&L Customer Support Desk.”

FALCO logoNicole Tedrow, President

"Falco first transitioned to Odyssey in 2004 when our manual system became to outdated and cumbersome. At first, we only implemented basic production reporting. As Falco grew and modernized, we began to see the myriad of opportunities available within the Odyssey software to streamline our reporting efficiency and accuracy. We have been able to condense workloads because what once took hours (if not days) to capture is all available in Odyssey -  with the click of a button! Over time, we have used more and more functions within the software. The staff at B&L continues to be supportive, pleasant and knowledgeable and works according to our project launch time frames, not their schedule, allowing us to grow at our own pace. I'm not sure how a foundry would function without the Odyssey software."
