AN AWARD WINNING YEAR AT B&L INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Another Record Breaking Year for Odyssey Go-Lives

Bridgman, MI, January 25, 2016 - Closing in on their 40th year in the technology space of creating ERP software for metalcasters, global leader B&L Information Systems celebrated a second banner year in a row. Highlights from 2015 include receiving a Silver Stevie Award for excellence in customer service and a Best for Enterprise Resource Planning Software from Corporate America's Software & Technology Awards.

"These types of awards are flattering to receive, but I really believe they speak mostly to B&L's commitment to creating exceptional customer experiences," remarked Philip Laney, CEO at B&L Information Systems "Our entire team is focused on helping our customers succeed. From the creation of new classes like 2015's Intro to Manufacturing, to a major investment in B&L's Cloud infrastructure, every decision we make is planned with customers in mind. I believe the recognition of these awards is the result of that intense customer focus."

2015 was another record-breaking year for B&L as the Professional Services Department provided implementation project management services for 18 "go-live" events at customer sites throughout North America, including:

  • Aero Metal, Inc. of LaPorte, Indiana

  • Wilkast Inc. of Grand Rapids, Michigan

To help facilitate the depth of training required by this number of go-lives and keep up with current customer needs, the Professional Services Department also expanded B&L's process documentation templates and hosted a plethora of education opportunities. Additionally, 2015 marked the first year B&L offered classes specifically for Odyssey's new browser-based Web User Interface (UI) as well as the traditional Windows-based Odyssey. B&L's 2015 classes included:

  • 12 free, live, topic-specific Odyssey webinars
  • 5 Odyssey Boot Camp classes
  • 4 Crystal Reports classes
  • 2 Odyssey Accounting classes
  • 2 Odyssey Introduction to Manufacturing classes
  • The annual two-day user conference, Spectrum, hosted in Minneapolis for 2015

Keeping the B&L family of customers growing, the Business Development Department signed 14 new metalcasters to the Odyssey ERP system in 2015, including:

"North American metalcasters are under constant pressure to reduce costs, eliminate waste and bring value to their customers," stated Laney. "Cloud-based Odyssey software enables metalcasters to experience a feature-rich ERP system, without the cost and IT resources typically required with on-premise software. Foundries and die casters are implementing Lean principles in their manufacturing processes. Odyssey in the Cloud supports the concept of Lean for IT and ERP implementation, allowing metalcasters to focus on what they do best: making quality castings. For 40 years now, B&L has delivered a unique combination of customer service and innovation, like cloud computing, to the metalcasting marketplace; and we'll continue to do so as this exciting time of technology change is upon us."
