MANUFACTURING'S TECHNOLOGY EXPANSION IN THE MIDWEST

B&L Information Systems Grows the Odyssey Family

Bridgman, Michigan, April 14, 2016 - As the automotive industry heats up and other metalcasting sectors invest in infrastructure, B&L Information Systems is proud to have equipped over half a dozen additional metalcasters to make better informed decisions using Odyssey in the first quarter of 2016.

In the first 90 days of the year, B&L signed 2 additional Michigan die casters to the Odyssey family of metalcasting ERP users: Diversified Metals of Gaylord, Michigan and Specialty Castings, the Springport Michigan division of Evans Industries. Diversified Metals is a die casting start up owned by industry veteran, Ken Freeman. As they are building their processes around Odyssey, Diversified Metals has an aggressive go-live planned for the second quarter of 2016. Specialty Castings will have a more traditional go-live timeframe as they will be converting ERP systems, joining other Evans Industries companies Meloon Foundries, Inc.; Ball, Brass & Aluminum Foundry; and Multi-Cast LLC.

On track to complete another year of exceptional "go-live" growth, B&L Information Systems' Professional Services Department took 5 additional customers live with the Odyssey ERP solution in Q1, 2016. Among the go-lives were several former BLIS customers who converted to Odyssey: Mid-City Foundry Company of Milwaukee Wisconsin and Urick Ductile Solutions of Erie Pennsylvania. Additionally, several New Jersey-based metalcasters made the switch to Odyssey: Federal Bronze of Newark moved off of Job Boss to Odyssey while Carteret Die Castings Corp of Somerset installed Odyssey as their first full ERP system. In the manufacturing stronghold of Ohio, returning B&L customer OSCO Industries also went live with their ERP provider of choice, Odyssey, in Q1.

"The shifts in technology the last few years have made it easier than ever to use data to power your business success. SaaS has changed the entry price point for ERP, making it an easily budgeted, reoccurring cost instead of a massive capital outlay. That means metalcasters can implement now, and scale up when their workload changes," notes Matt Gacek, Vice-President - Business Development. "Plus, the use of browser-based ERP systems has increased the push of mobile technology to the shop floor. Odyssey has been at the forefront of every technology expansion that impacts metalcasters. In Odyssey, metalcasters see the full solution for their information needs. That's what has been fueling the ERP technology expansion we've witnessed in the Midwest."
