FOUNDRIES ACROSS NORTH AMERICA LIVE WITH ODYSSEY

From Steel to Art, Odyssey Helps Metalcasters Make Better Decisions Faster

Bridgman, MI, December 28, 2015 - Continuing a record breaking year in Odyssey go-lives, ten additional metalcasting businesses went live with B&L Information Systems' Odyssey ERP software in the second half of 2015. These metalcasters will be able to take advantage of the many benefits offered by an industry-specific ERP software, which gives metalcasting businesses the ability to collect, manage and analyze business information.

All types of metalcasters benefit from the advantages of the information Odyssey's ERP system provides. These five - very different - metalcasters each selected Odyssey for the benefits of an ERP software built for their needs:

  • Art foundry Polich Tallix of Rock Tavern, New York completed their first ERP installation with Odyssey.
  • Precision aluminum and zinc die caster Wilkast of Grand Rapids, Michigan graduated from spreadsheets and Quickbooks to their first complete ERP package, Odyssey.
  • Gray and ductile iron caster Penn-Mar Castings, Inc. (PMC) of Hanover, Pennsylvania opted for a two-phased implementation to maximize their operating efficiency. They are now live with Phase One of their Odyssey installation.
  • Steel foundry Minncast Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota had been using Sage before selecting Odyssey to get the advantages of industry-specific ERP technology.
  • Ball Brass & Aluminum Foundry, Inc., makers of quality brass and aluminum and bronze castings, in Auburn, Indiana converted to Odyssey for improved data communications between the Meloon Foundries, LLC. family of companies.

Having invested in industry specific ERP years ago, several of B&L's legacy software clients upgraded to the modern technology foundation of Odyssey in order to continue to advance their businesses:

  • Aluminum metalcaster Eck Industries, Inc. of Manitowoc, Wisconsin committed the late summer to a focus on Odyssey process documentation, user testing/training in preparation for their November 2015 go-live.
  • Leading supplier of high precision, aluminum, magnesium and zinc die casting products and services, Chicago White Metal Castings, Inc. (CWM), Bensenville, Illinois updated to Odyssey in September 2015.
  • Multi-location die caster Pace Industries went live with Odyssey's finance modules in their Fayetteville, Arkansas headquarters to consolidate reporting throughout the company. In October of 2015, B&C Division of Harrison, Arkansas went live with Odyssey's Finance modules to coordinate with Pace's corporate finance structure, as well as modules related to running production and ordering with a goal to continuous improvement and familiarization with the new system. Going forward in 2016, Pace will continue to integrate operations at other plants into Odyssey for improved efficiencies.

Long-time Odyssey customers also continued to grow their use of Odyssey. In Q3, 2015, Custom Castings, Ltd, makers of high quality aluminum and zinc in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada expanded their Odyssey ERP use into Accounting, Shipping and Invoicing after having previously implemented Shop Floor Manager and Labor Reporting, giving them more capabilities in Odyssey for a positive impact on business growth. Multi-ferrous metalcaster, Renaissance Manufacturing Group in Waukesha Wisconsin also moved to the Odyssey SaaS model, updated to the most current Odyssey version, and expanded their Odyssey use to include General Ledger.

"Allowing metalcasters to focus resources back into the business of metalcasting has always been one of the greatest benefits of Odyssey," states Philip Laney, B&L's CEO. "Now, our Software as a Service (SaaS) model hosted in the B&L Cloud furthers that benefit. Customers can scale their ERP footprint as business conditions change; and, they can rest assured their data is safe, secure and available 24x7x365 in the B&L Cloud, all while mitigating IT costs."
