ODYSSEY CROSSES BORDERS

B&L Information Systems the ERP of Choice in U.S. and Canada

Bridgman, Michigan, September 1, 2016 - B&L Information Systems, the global leader in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software technology for die casters and foundries, has recently been selected as the ERP of choice for several metalcasters in both the U.S. and Canada. Recent signings of metalcasters to Odyssey ERP software include: Canada Alloy Castings Company of Kitchener, Ontario; Fonderie Poitras, Ltee. of L'Islet, Quebec; General Die Casters Inc. of Twinsburg, Ohio; and Weatherly Castings & Machine Company of Weatherly, Pennsylvania.

Founded in 1956, Canada Alloy Castings is a North American leader in the production of highly engineered steel, stainless steel castings and aluminum bronze. Their experience covers a full complement of original equipment for major industries including: Hydro-Electric, Nuclear Power, Mining & Construction, Petrochemical, Rail Transportation and Pulp and Paper. CAC is a technology adopter and has continued to upgrade systems, processes and personnel to the exacting demands of ISO 9001:2008; the switch to Odyssey is part of CAC's process improvements and growth plans.

Quebec-based Fonderie Poitras is a world-class producer of cast metal components meeting customers' demands for castings that comply with the highest standards. Poitras focuses on the production of small, high-strength ductile iron castings. Their specialized metallurgy has been developed over the years to provide a precise microstructure with superior machinability. Poitras prides itself on technical information use and converting to the Odyssey ERP software system will enhance how their staff shares knowledge within the company, from shop floor to front office.

The only manufacturer in the scenic Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area, General Die Casters, Inc was founded in 1957 and since that time, has worked closely with customers, to design, manufacture, and deliver the custom die castings they demand. The attitude of quality extends throughout General's process serving customers in the Appliance, Automotive, Commercial, Computers & Peripherals, Electrical, Industrial, Lawn & Garden, Recreational, and Transportation markets. That same quality mindset led General to B&L's Odyssey ERP as they outgrew their SyteLine ERP system.

The leading alloy foundry in eastern Pennsylvania, Weatherly Castings & Machine Company had been a customer of B&L's legacy software, BLIS. An iron and iron alloy foundry supplying the Material Handling and Power Generation industries as well as Pump and Durable Goods manufacturers, Weatherly specializes in large scale castings. Odyssey offers a technology advantage with superior support to help Weatherly build on the profound expertise of their personnel.

"The economic downturn in 2008-2009 left many companies looking at ways to do more with what they have. Odyssey is a natural fit with that mentality. In addition to opening up the access and viewability of critical information, companies find that Odyssey also helps with process improvements as the information flow between the front office and shop floor becomes more transparent," notes Matt Gacek, Vice President - Business Development. "Couple that improved information flow with B&L's free, continuous software upgrades specific to the needs of metalcasters and you have a combination that helps companies throughout North America make better decisions faster."
