TECHNOLOGY FORWARD

Building to a More Integrated Future

Bridgman, Michigan, January 14, 2020 – B&L Information Systems, North American leader in metalcasting ERP software, has announced six company additions to the Odyssey family of active users in the latter half of 2019.

Three companies went live with new installations of Odyssey ERP in the second six months of 2019.

  • Horizon Metals Inc. of Nephi, Utah went live with Odyssey. Horizon chose to have Odyssey Shop Floor Manager as part of their initial go-live to take advantage of the improved efficiencies of real-time information between the shop floor and front office. Horizon Metals is an iron and steel foundry and machining facility.
  • Cast Metal Technologies (CMT) of Winchester, Indiana went live. This is one of three Cast Metal Technologies facilities, owned by Delaware, Ohio-based Liberty Casting Company, going live this year with Odyssey. CMT is a jobbing foundry specializing in aluminum and zinc castings and machining.
  • Wear-Tek of Spokane, Washington went live with Odyssey. As a modern manufacturer, Wear-Tek’s ERP interest included the ability to capture machine data in real-time and Odyssey’s Shop Floor Manager was part of the solution. Wear-Tek is a high chrome white iron and steel castings foundry and machining facility.

Additionally, in the last six months of 2019, three early adopters of metalcasting ERP converted from B&L’s legacy software, BLIS, to the cloud-based Odyssey ERP.

  • Texas Die Casting of Gladewater, Texas finalized their Odyssey conversion in September 2019. Texas Die Casting is a leading aluminum die cast manufacturer in the U.S. and produces aluminum die cast components for a wide range of markets.
  • Berntsen Brass & Aluminum of Madison, Wisconsin completed their Odyssey conversion in December 2019. Founded in 1946 and family owned, Berntsen is a world-class provider of aluminum, bronze and brass casting services.
  • Manitowoc Precision & Machine of Manitowoc, Wisconsin went live with Odyssey in December 2019.MPM is a divison of Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry.

“In this economy, one of the concerns we hear from foundries and die casters is knowing their costs and the difficulty of having information in multiple systems. An integrated ERP system makes real-time cost data - and production data - easy to access and improves decision making,” noted Kristine Craft, Vice President – Professional Services. “As our ERP implementation team helps metalcasters build best of industry processes and delves into improving efficiencies, we know Odyssey offers sustainable technology improvements that positively impact the businesses in making better decisions, faster.”
